Meet Worldly – The Planet’s Most Comprehensive Impact Intelligence Platform


Today, we’re excited to announce our new identity as Worldly: the planet’s most comprehensive impact intelligence platform. 


Why the change? 

As most know, our technology platform was initially launched in 2019 to support the Higg Index. Developed by the Sustainable Apparel Collection, this suite of tools is the most widely-used sustainability measurement framework in the apparel, footwear, and textile industries. 


Since then, in addition to hosting the Higg Index, we’ve steadily expanded our platform capabilities: from improved analytics and reporting, to tools for supplier communication, to complementary partnerships with other trusted third-parties. 


As we continue to offer more, we realized the name Higg no longer made sense (and was confusing to our customers).


And why the name Worldly? 

Traditionally, ‘worldly’ meant being knowledgeable about material possessions and the practical world—in contrast to greater pursuits of purpose. 


We believe that the challenges of climate change are creating demand for a new type of intelligence about the material world—and its impacts on people and the planet. We chose the name Worldly to embrace this idea, and to redefine what sort of knowledge is material in the 21st century. 


What you can expect

As Worldly, we will continue to be the exclusive licensee of the Higg Index and work closely with the Sustainable Apparel Coalition to deliver these tools. In particular, we are proud to offer brand customers the largest dataset on facilities, and the most widely-accepted self-assessments available for manufacturers. 


We’ve also made some improvements to our platform layout: 

  • New dashboard with links to most-often used tools and capabilities
  • At-a-glance status for in-progress assessments
  • Higg FEM and FSLM are now available under the ‘Assessments’ navigation 



We’re also announcing new capabilities and tools. For our brand customers, we’re launching high-frequency factory data collection to help you track progress and course-correct throughout the year. And for our manufacturer customers, we’re simplifying how you can report on energy, water, and waste data by simply sharing utility bills (with no special sustainability expertise required). 


These new products, services, and datasets will be complementary to the tools our customers use today. We’re committed to meeting our customers where they are in their sustainability journey: whether you’re starting out, have some experience, or are an expert, we’re designing solutions for you. 


Our vision for Worldly is to be the most trusted source of primary data and sustainability insights for consumer goods businesses. Because impact starts with intelligence.
